Ken Bouvier, NREMT-P - Administrative Liaison for New Orleans EMS.  National and Internationally known for his lectures on Hazardous Materials, Gun Violence, “Tricks of the Trade”, and America’s School Shootings. Past President of NAEMT

Ken Bouvier, (Boo-V-A) is a true Louisiana “Cajun” from New Orleans, Louisiana and has been actively involved in EMS since 1974.  He is recognized both nationally and internationally by United Who’s Who as a professional speaker in the EMS profession.

Ken is a Nationally Registered EMT-Paramedic and the Administrative Liaison for New Orleans EMS.  Ken serves as the EMS Commander for New Orleans major events including Mardi Gras.  He is also the Fire Chief for Monsanto Company in Luling, Louisiana where he has worked since 1975.

Ken was the President of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) from 2004 – 2006 and presently serves NAEMT as a Director at Large.  In 1989 Ken received the Robert E. Motley National EMT of the Year Award and in 2008 he received the prestigious Rocco V. Morando Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ken is an active member of the Louisiana Association of Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technicians, and is a former member of the Board of Directors and a past president of the New Orleans EMT Association.

Ken has an extensive educational background in emergency response.  He holds several certifications from Louisiana State University, Texas A&M University, Florida State Fire College and the National Fire Academy.

Ken is on the Advisory Board of EMS Magazine and has written many articles for EMS & Fire Service publications.  He is best known for his lectures on Hazardous Materials, Gun Violence, “Tricks of the Trade”, and America’s School Shootings.  He has made written contributions in 11 EMS textbooks and is the author of several video training tapes.
